Description
Sadly my beloved one off Spitfire Special is up for sale, built in the early 1990's by my self (aeronautical engineer) this car epitomises the 1930's style of single seat racers, using a past saving 1968 Spitfire Mk3 as the donor car for all the mechanicals - the body was hand formed (English wheel) in aluminium and has been fitted around a steel frame on a strengthened chassis. Every single nut bolt and component was fitted new or reconditioned - all the main assemblies were kept with the correct original serial numbers, the car comes with overdrive on 3rd and 4th. The car is registered as an Historic vehicle and is exempt from tax and MOT but it gets a voluntary MOT check each year - I am 6' tall and 90kg and I fit in it easily - this car is a multi prize winner, absolutely unique in every way - it is probably not for the shy and retiring as everybody but everybody will want to talk to you about it, but trust me, it is oh so very exciting and evocative to drive - Sir Sterling Moss loved it when the car was displayed at the NEC and he signed the car (preserved behind the head rest) there is a very good video of the car on YouTube search for: Harcourt Triumph Spitfire Special or please feel free to contact me at anytime for more details, pictures etc. The price is offers in the region off
