Description
1957 Cadillac Coupe Series 62 in Pink. If your a concourse pervert, Trophy or Trailer Queen Hunter then i do strongly suggest to look elsewhere. The engine has a had a rebuild before my ownership, runs sweet as a clock, sounds beautiful with a lovely rumble from that 365 cu in V8. Its 100% reliable, starts on demand and drives very well. It has had a electric fuel pump fitted and also the car has been lowered 3 inches all round. Recently new Heavy Duty Battery fitted and the radiator has been reconed. Underneath the car is solid. Inside Is white with headlining like new, Carpets are lovely and theres some spare in Trunk for the boot (ive never got round to fitting it yet). Yes, its a Pillarless Coupe, a few tiny jobs to do inside, easy fixes, just dont have time and storage costs.
The roof is white vinyl, which is NOT correct (Ok, Anoraks/ Experts you don, t need to tell me).
The paint is cracked on trunk lid, hood and front wings, there are areas of rust bubbles, but no holes, So you can drive it as is as i have, it gets more attention than a McLaren. The Correct Sombrero Hat Hubcaps/ Wheel covers are in good shape and theres a spare on the spare wheel in the trunk.
All lights work fine, i have the V5 in my name.
Ive been into 50s American Cars my entire life, im just NOT a Cadillac Man. Comparing it to my 50s Lincoln, Cadillac just did not have the Quality Finish that Ford put into Lincoln, so as i said im Not a Caddy Man
Looking for Oldsmobile preferably, any Fords, Chryslers, Nash, Buick, Pontiac, Studebaker etc will be considered.
If i was keeping this i, d keep it as is, be a shame to take the character away, but thats up to the next owner, then you would just be another Shiney Car on the Showground. Its never been on the Showground Or Car Show as i dont attend them so it would be new for all the Criticizers to have their expert and professional views on.
Use it and enjoy it, dont need to wash and polish it, dont need to worry about a hairline scratch or dust on your dashboard. Turn Key and go. Experts, Anoraks and Judges Please keep your opinions to yourself. Thank You
