Description
Motors Corner is pleased to present this exceptional Cadillac Series 62 Cabriolet, third generation, 1948 model year. It is the very first model to adopt the famous tail fins, these rear fins inspired by aeronautics which would become the marque's visual signature for the coming decades. Equipped with the so-called 'horseshoe' speedometer, this Cadillac has just undergone a special bodywork treatment delivering an unparalleled finish. The mighty V8 of this Cadillac saw wartime service, tested on the battlefields in M-5 tanks during World War II.
Exterior condition
The metallic blue paintwork presents a very fine finish, recently polished and glazed, with a ceramic protective coating. Panel gaps are immaculate, and the chrome trim gleams in the sun. The navy blue soft top folds away easily. Finally, the chrome-wire wheels, shod with whitewall tyres, give this car its full period charm.
Interior condition
The interior has been fully restored in keeping with the original specification. Every detail, from the steering wheel to the gear knob, contributes to a luxurious, warm, and typically American atmosphere.
Mechanical condition
The mechanicals are in impeccable condition. The V8 engine has been rebuilt, as has the Hydra-Matic transmission. It starts at the turn of the key and offers excellent low-end flexibility. It is ready to cruise long distances with no expenses to budget.
