I’ve owned this Corvette because, like many classic cars, it isn’t simply a car — it’s an experience.
This is a 1978 Chevrolet Corvette C3 25th Anniversary, with the desirable L-82 5. 7 V8, manual gearbox and matching numbers. Over the time I’ve owned it, I’ve put a great deal of time, care and money into making sure it is mechanically sound and enjoyable to drive, while retaining the character that makes these cars so special.
The car comes with lots and lots of paperwork and a substantial collection of additional parts, which will all go with the car. There is a real history with this Corvette, and I hope the next owner will appreciate having all of that information and documentation alongside it.
But what I really love about this car isn’t something you can write down on a specification sheet.
It’s the smell of it when you open the door. It’s the sound of that L-82 V8 firing into life and the feeling you get when you pull away in a manual Corvette. It’s the character, the noise and the mechanical feel that modern cars simply don’t have.
Then there is the feeling when you’re out on the open road, the T-tops off, the wind rushing around you and that V8 soundtrack behind you. You can’t help but smile.
