Description
I am selling a 1991 Saab 9000 CC 2. 3 Turbo SE (Swiss Edition).
A limited number of 9000 models sold only for the Switzerland market.
The car was first owned by the original buyer in Switzerland. Then it was imported to Croatia by the second owner. After it was bought by my father. My father wanted to restore the car and drive it daily. Unfortunately my fathers health got worse and the car is now in my possesion. While i like the car, i cannot keep it, as it's rare and valueable. And i don't have the finances or space to keep it.
We had the car since 2019, and here is a summary of what work has been done when the car was in my dads possession:
1. Summer 2019 - 117. 000km
The brake system on the entire vehicle has been repaired (all rubber hoses and aluminum pipes replaced) and all pads on all four wheels have been replaced. The discs on the car are still original. Complete engine service was done, all belts, fluids, spark plugs, some rubber hoses (which was necessary due to age). The oilpan was removed and washed.
2. 2022 - 120. 000km
The engine cassette (red cover) was replaced, the old one had two plastic coil housings cracked. The engine central computer and a turbine vacuum sensor were replaced.
3. 2024
Headliner, pillar and doors upholstery refurbished.
Air conditioning system charged.
Central locking replaced and original alarm deactivated during the same service.
4. 2026 - 124. 000km
Headlight buckets/ reflectors chrome plated, rubber gaskets re-glued to glass lenses.
Metal brackets, bulb metal cover and screws have been Zinc sprayed.
Complete exterior rough polished.
Car is in driving, working condition, rust free, garage kept. No major services needed.
Current issues still left on the car:
• A/ C system is leaking, but still working.
• The headlight dashboard switch housing is working, but broken. So the switch housing moves when switching headlights on/ off.
• Central locking not working all the time. The car has remote unlocking from factory, but it was replaced with a newer unit. While the new remote and reciever unit is working, something is causing issues, and the Central Locking unit fails to operate after a few locks/ unlocks.
• Original radio unit code is lost. I tried to find it on the radio unit, in the radio cluster hole, the car documentation, but couldn't find it. I even had a talk with a senior mechanic who serviced the car when it was imported to Croatia, and he doesn't know either. I haven't tested and don't know if the entire audio system is working
• The paint is not in the best condition, the car was certainly repaired in its lifetime. The recent rough polishing has surfaced many imperfections, scratches, dents, "lazy" repairs, etc. For serious buyers and collectors, it will surely need a complete paint job.
• The woodgrain panels are cracked in a few places, they make crackling noises from old age.
With the car comes:
- set of aluminium wheels with old summer tires
- set of aluminium wheels with worn winter tyres.
- old engine cassette and some used parts in a box. It is, in my opinnion, the best looking 9000 of all the years and variants. It's a CC (Combi Coupe) 5 door chassis, with sloped nose/ headlights design, which was only produced for the 1991 year.
This 9000 SE (Swiss Edition) has the Aeroflow rear Wing, Ronal five spoke aluminium wheels, front fog lights, Bridge of Wier, Scotish Fine Leather interior with electric and heated seats and woodgrain imitation panels. Finished with Le Mans Blue exterior paint.
The car is being driven on nice weather days, and stored in a rented garage space.
The price is 10. 000€, which i believe is fair considering the rarity of the car and is negotiable because of it's current condition.
