Description
The time has come to sell my beloved Austin 1275cc A30. This little car has all the desirable parts that allow it to keep up with modern traffic. Owned by myself for the past 4 years, this car has been great fun to drive and ultra-reliable, having completed journeys to the Midlands and beyond.
* 1954 model in rare coronation colour, Buckingham Green
* Superb torquey 1275cc Marina engine. This engine starts on the button, is rattle free and consistently delivers 40+ mpg. Will happily sit at 65-70 mph all day with plenty more in reserve.
* When I purchased the car, it had a recent brand new SU carburettor, electronic ignition distributor, stainless-steel sports exhaust and electric fan fitted.
* Precise rebuilt A30 gearbox with A35 internals
* MG Midget front discs and rear axle
* Lowered and uprated suspension
* John Brown Wheels 13” Smoothie steel wheels
* P700 headlights
* Electric period Tudor screen washers
* Fully functioning trafficators with super bright flashing LEDs
* Original interior with recent carpet
This is a very straight, solid and original car, which has possibly only seen a welder once over the years. The underside is rock solid and has been cavity wax protected by myself.
Great fun to drive with plenty of usability from the off and has been ultra-reliable during my ownership.
The original steering wheel, number plate and new quarterlight window rubbers are included in the sale. I've always wanted an A30 or A35 and when this one came up I had to have it. Gone is the under-powered 803cc engine for a 1275 that makes it a practical proposition to use in modern traffic. The lowered stance and look achieved by the 13" wheels attracts a lot of attention wherever she goes and is great to fun to drive as well as being amazingly practical.
