Description
Honda Deauville year 2000, Non ABS
So thats one thing less to go wrong.
Mileage 14, 000 miles Mot'd till June 2027, no advisories.
The Honda NT650V Deauville engine is exceptionally durable and easily good for 100, 000+ miles if it gets regular care. Many well-maintained models and former courier bikes regularly surpass 150, 000 to 200, 000 miles on the original or components.
So this bike at 14, 000 has many more miles left in it.
One of the weak points on the Deauville is the petrol pump, only really needed when you hit reserve on the petrol tap as at that point the fuel is lower than the carbs............. But don't worry this bike has just had a new petrol pump fitted with a 1N4007 diode across the points to prevent the points from sparking and waring out prematurely . so you need not worry.
This Honda Deauville is a NT650 carb model, easier to work on yourself should you wish to do so.
This is a stylish and reliable touring motorbike with lovely red metallic paint, making it stand out from the crowd
With only 14, 000 miles on the clock, it's in excellent condition and ready for its next adventure.
It's a 5 speed gearbox, electric start, side stand and centre stand , starts with about half choke without any problem.
Since deciding to sell the bike I thought it best to have it serviced at my local bike shop, so its has a service including carbs ultrasonically cleaned and balanced, new plugs, Oil and Air Filter changed so it's all ready for it's next owner.
Can't be fairer than that.
Reason for sale I have another 2 bikes and to be honest I tend to use the BMW K100rs more than I use the Deauville
Grab a good bike while it's still here........... It's 26 years old with 14K on the clock, less miles than my 40 year old BMW which has 51K on the clock. The Deauville was originally an English registered bike, not used during the winter months so road salt hasn't been a problem on this bike........... now residing in Scotland, kept under cover and hooked up to a smart charger or trickle charger/ maintainer when not used—automatically stops charging the battery when full and switches to a safe maintenance mode to keep the battery healthy without overcharging.
It's not a must sell, I'm just trying to make some space and with 3 bikes I can only use one at a time and the one nearest the door is normally my BMW.
Yes you might buy one cheaper but it will probably have a lot more miles on its clock and a pound to a penny It won't have just been serviced.
Oh! and I forgot to say there is a large 2 helmet top box to go with the bike, it's just not fitted at the moment, it's a 20 second job to fit it to the Givi rack.
Its all good even the tyres are very good with maximum tread.
It also has a new tall screen and 2 switchable day running lights ( one each side )
Hey! Its not long passed it's mot so there's nothing wrong with it.
Bikes are all kept under cover and have their own bike covers as well.
Why the Deauville 650 is Easier to Maintain, Carburettors vs. Fuel Injection: The 650 uses dual carburetors, which do not rely on high-pressure fuel pumps, electronic injectors, or ECU sensors. While carbs need synchronizing or cleaning if left sitting, they are fully mechanical and easily worked on by a DIYer with basic tools.
Fewer Electronics: There are fewer wires, sensors, and digital dashboards to fail. The NT700V introduced more complex electronics and a known quirk where moisture can get trapped in the instrument cluster.
Simpler Bodywork/ Plastics: Users on community platforms generally agree that the 650 features slightly more robust panel attachments and slightly less intricate interlocking plastics than the revised 700.
Why to Keep a NT650 Deauville:
Simplicity: If you prefer working on your own machine with basic tools, the simpler layout and carburetors of the NT650 make home maintenance straightforward.
Lower Cost : Your 650 will be completely reliable, and if you add some STA-BIL Storage Fuel Stabiliser to the petrol before leave it standing for any great length of time ( perhaps over the winter months) it will remain a bulletproof commuter and the Fuel Stabiliser will work it's magic when you come to fire it up again
