Description
I am unfortunately having to list this for sale due to an upcoming left knee surgery next month which will leave me unable to drive or use the car for a long period of time, and potentially any manuals for the foreseeable future without pain. It’s a shame as I searched for a car in this spec for a long time and would love to keep it given the rarity.
It’s a 2007 Z4M Coupe specified in the most driver focused specification I’ve come across and is truly one of a kind. Looked after with no expense spared which is shown in all the invoices.
It’s an individual spec finished in the sought after Ruby Black Metallic with imola red interior. The colour really pops in the sun and the photos don’t do it justice compared to in person. The car needs for absolutely nothing other than to be driven and cherished.
It’s does not have the nav screen which I think really dates any cars of this era, no cruise control or cup holders, pure driver focused spec. It does have heated seats and electric folding mirrors and debadged rear as a factory option and electric memory seats and rear parking sensors which all work as they should. It is believed to be 1 of very few if not 1 of 1 globally in this configuration.
The previous owner had it for a decade where it was professionally stored in that time covering miles for its servicing and MOT’s only. I purchased it from the storage facility down in Andover. The owner also has a Z3M coupe which he has kept, initially putting both in as a pair of investments. All of the owners have been long term ones and he was the 4th, making it a low owner Z4M too which is hard to come by and an another reason I chose it. It still retains the original sytner sticker in the rear window and paperwork from it being purchased from BMW as well as numerous invoices and service books/ history and recent work I’ve had carried out as I like to have my cars running perfectly.
Since purchasing the car. I have put a new set of tyres on to replace the old PZeros from storage, at a cost of over £800, which are BMW specific Michelin PS4 tyres. It been given it a full service and had the ABS pump rebuilt which is a common issue all z4’s face referred to as the trifecta lights issue. It had a small diff weep from the pinion seal which was inspected and replaced. These were all done at a renowned BMW independent specialist MCB Autokraft in Earlswood. I’ve also had the front brake disks replaced at BMW Solihull last month, which are the same as M3 CSL brakes from factory which cost over £1000. They were replaced as I noticed a tiny 1cm hairline crack on the front right disk which I wanted sorting, as well as new front callipers. During the services, new coolant, brake fluid, steering fluid change, literally everything that could be done to ensure it’s reliability and longevity. Prior to my purchase it just had its inspection II service done at 68k miles, which is critical to get done on these.
It’s effectively had a mini recommissioning since my purchase at no expense spared. At BMW the car was given a health check which they stated the car was great with no issues at all which I have the video to show.
The car will have a full MOT which I’ll get done at BMW in the coming weeks.
The car drives great, as it should and sounds lovely and is completely standard and as BMW intended which is perfect for an investment opportunity as all the cars from this era will appreciate with time. I’ve also had new wipers and bulbs fitted, so essentially the car is perfect. There is a small blemish/ cut to the front left part of the bumper which was there when I purchased it, which I plan to get done if I don’t end up selling it to bring the exterior up to perfection. The interior is as if it left the factory, minimal signs of wear with the driver seat bolster looking great without damage or age.
It is always warmed up as it should, being given time to cold start and driven below 2K rpm without heavy load all the way until 90 degrees oil temp and only ever filled on 99 Ron premium fuel. I have fitted a BMC panel filter as the only change I’ve made, with my original plan to put a full CSL carbon air-box in the future if I am able to drive manuals and keep it.
It’s genuinely a reluctant sale and I don’t really want to sell it as I know it’s one of the most rare configurations and will definitely appreciate compared to others which would make it impossible to find another.
