We have been recommissioning our E23 to make it roadworthy. Many parts have been replaced or upgraded, many mentioned above, but in general everything that has been needed to make the car roadworthy and capable of driving us anywhere, like: new cooling system, renewed braking system, engine works & improvements, gearbox, etc as mentioned above.
The car is on the road and ready to drive you anywhere; however, it's not perfect, and we always planned to do this vanity-type restoration next, so we were in preparation for that already, along with some other planned jobs as below:
- Front wings replaced - need strip down ready for paint
- Rear arches we have the new panels to fit (included in the sale)
- Rust hole under doors - we intended to strip & repair, ready for paint
- Recommission the automatic climate control - fan and buttons already replaced, needs connection & test
- A personalisation job for the future- upgrade suspension, maybe different wheels (like type one Alpina wheels)
- The interior is in decent and original condition, but we were looking for some leather for the future
We are sure the new owner will be happy with our E23, and hopefully they would plan on making the car look amazing too. We didn’t plan on selling this car; however, my nephew is getting married and buying their first home this year, and we would like to help them achieve that dream.
