Description

This is no ordinary Mk 1 Audi TT Quattro 225bhp coupe.
It has covered the incredibly low total of only 19, 062 miles in 22 years, totally verified by its fully stamped service book, 20 MOT certificates and plethora of invoices, mainly from Newcastle Audi.
Please do not confuse , or compare , this car with the “normal”examples from this era, where their wonderful usability means that owners have piled on the miles and the cars will carry the inevitable evidence of such usage. This car is different from those.
Consequently, this car is worth significantly more than the usual.
However, for the asking price, you can get a 225 bhp 2+2 coupe which is as close to a brand new car as you can probably get - but for a lot less money than a comparable brand new 2+2 coupe - even if you can think of one in today’s high cost, low excitement market!
The bodywork is first class and has been enhanced , and better preserved, by PPF and Gyeon Quartz treatments in the last 9 months - done for me because I intended to keep the car for a long time.
The underside is exemplary, having avoided major exposure to our roads and winters, with only 1 wheel showing very minor, barely noticeable signs of pitting.
The black leather interior is as good as new - even the original carpets are close to perfect , having not been worn by many miles use and because they are protected by heavy duty rubber over mats.
The car has had only 2 ladies as its previous owners, the first keeping the car from new for circa 17 years.
As a result, the originality of this car is to be envied.
It is supported by its original book pack, 2 keys, radio card, a variety of contemporary brochures, Tele Atlas factory installed navigation disk and packaging, new vehicle invoice , order information and welcome pack from Newcastle Audi, invoices from that dealership from 2004 to 2016 and Quattrotech thereafter, plus invoices for work done under my instruction in more recent times.
As the car has been part of my classics collection, I have also fitted a C Tek connector for easy battery maintenance.
Fascinatingly, it even still has the original, unopened, tin of mints given by the supplying dealer as a marketing ploy on the first sale.
The accompanying paperwork file contains those 20 MOT certificates from its first in April 2007 through to the current one which runs until December of this year. In all of that time, there has been only 1 fail and an almost immediately subsequent Pass with advisories - both in March 2016 at 14, 938 miles - over 10 years ago! Every other - both before and since - has been a PASS without advisories.
Incredible!!
Importantly, the timing belt and water pump were replaced in April 2024, at 18, 382 miles, and the Haldex oil and filter were changed in May 2023 , at 16, 279 miles .
Why, then , you might ask, am I selling?
Very simple!
My collection grew to a number which became difficult to manage and even more difficult to enjoy for its individuality. I, therefore, hardened my heart and decided to reduce to a number of specific types of car,. For example, just 1 Coupe, or just 1 turbo-charged 4 seat saloon, etc.
As all of my cars are cherished, this has meant already saying goodbye to a number of examples which I will probably come to regret - and now it is the turn of my glorious TT, usurped by a 2006 Aston Martin Vantage V8!
May I say once more, this no ordinary example of the fabulous TT Quattro Coupe.
I have owned several over the years and this is by far the best of them all - and in my view this model is better than the later, heavier, more expensive to run 3. 2 engined version. This model has a purity of purpose and German excellence in its execution which allow the driver to generate tremendous enjoyment in the deployment of the car’s attributes - fantastic for a car of this period.
The joy in this case is that it does it like a brand new version, and for significantly less outlay than a similar car of 2026 .
As was recently said by a dealer who happened to see this car, if you want a TT Quattro 225, then this is the one to buy!
