Description
Built on the 22nd of December 1955 and subsequently registered on the 3rd February 1956 in Surrey this very original car is believed to be 1 of only 165 RHD built for the British home market and comes with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate stating the chassis and engine numbers.
I purchased the car in 2010 from renowned restorers JME Healeys at The Cape Works after they just completed a full chassis up restoration. All panels are aluminium including wings, doors boot and louvred bonnet complete with leather strap. The exterior paintwork is finished in stunning black and the engine bay in silver(like the 100s)which would therefore easily facilitate an exterior colour change if required by the new owner.
The lovely soft leather interior is tan and complimented by a classic wood rim and aluminium steering wheel.
The carpets have been recently replaced and benefit from additional Austin Healey logo rubber over mats for the winter.
As part of the restoration at JME the engine was rebuilt including a balanced and lightened flywheel and Le Mans camshaft, rebuilt H6 100M carburettors.
Subsequently a Dennis Welch fast road cylinder head and 100M tubular exhaust manifold and system added.
Further upgrades during restoration included new aluminium fuel tank and 72 spoke wire wheels.
I have covered 7071 miles since collecting the car in 2010 and have had regular MOTs and services.
The car has just returned from JME after a thorough check over, fitment of replacement clutch, an engine and gearbox oil change and road test.
This is a fabulous and quite rare Healey 100 BN2 car with upgrades and superb performance. Contact owner on the details below for further details.
