Description
1970 AUSTIN MINI 1340cc RALLY RECREATION.
XUE 12H started life as a humble Mk 2 Mini 1000 and like a lot of classic minis was customised and improved by its owners over a period of years.
Between 2006 & 2012 major upgrades were undertaken with the of 8. 4" disc brakes, a servo, 1. 5 camber bottom arms, adjustable tie bars, Spax shock absorbers, 12 x 6 Minilite wheels with Yokohama tyres & the fitment of a 1275A Plus MG Metro engine & gearbox.
The present owner bought the car in 2016 and over the last 10 years has completed a comprehensive rebuild & upgrade of the engine & gearbox to fast road spec. and fitted a host of upgrades & additions, including a Safety Devices roll cage, four 7" Cibie spotlights, a 5" Lucas reversing light, dural Monty/ Scottish full length sumpguard, oil cooler, Cobra seats etc. to create a rally recreation that is now in Show condition both bodily wise and mechanically. This is a very useable classic and is Tax exempt.
In 2024 the car was valued by the British Mini Club at £16000 and is a bargain at the asking price of £14000.
For a while the car was owned by Great Escape Cars of Redditch and during that time was used on BBC Celebrity Road Trip by Esther Rantzen and her daughter.
It was also reputably used as one of three cars for an "Italian Job" trip to Turin.
