Very well-maintained 996 Turbo. This car is inconceivably fast. The all-leather interior is in fabulous condition - more like a 20, 000 mile car than a 100, 000 mile car. Loads of extras, heated seats, Bose sound, CD Autochanger, Porsche Nav, The tiptronic is exceptionally robust and matches the Turbo engine particularly well. New Michelin Pilot Sport all round, thousands spent.
Some of these cars have been owned by people who can't afford to maintain them properly. This 911 Turbo is an exception. It is also regularly driven as my daily driver for the past 5 years, which I believe shakes out any defects when compared with a car that has sat still so this should be a really solid car for its next owner.
From memory, it has had new coffin arms at some point and some work on the turbos, possibly new wastegates - some coolant lines - documentation in the folder which is an inch or two thick. Genuine reason for sale and I will be really sad to part with it - we almost think of it like a family member.
Many people comment what a beautiful colour the Lapis blue is when they get close to the car.
I truly believe these cars are massively undervalued and will really fly in the future. Modern 911s simply aren't as robust as the original Mezger engine, which was developed to win at endurance racing. The Turbo from 2001 - 2005, although it has the benefit of water cooling, it retains the robustness of the original Mezger engine. I think later 911s like 991, 992 and onwards, being so complicated, will develop problems that are hard to fix whereas these are much more robust and less complex to maintain and will therefore prove their long-term value and make better enthusiast cars to own.
Sadly, since this is my daily driver, and my daughters have now reached 15 and 17 years old, it's simply neither practical nor fair for me to expect them to sit in the back regularly. Therefore I have bought an E60 M5 to perform that role, and somebody else will get to enjoy this wonderful machine.
