Jet Black Super 70s/ 80s Dodge Custom Van
A rare opportunity to own an authentic American custom van with huge character and potential. During my ownership I invested heavily in the mechanical side of the vehicle because I intended to keep it permanently. However, with plans to move abroad, I have reluctantly decided to offer it for sale.
My Dodge has benefited from a complete engine rebuild, including:
Reground crankshaft
New pistons
New connecting rods
New starter motor
Associated engine rebuild components
In addition, it has:
Brand new clutch
Fully rebuilt 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive
All work was carried out during my ownership by a highly regarded American vehicle specialist based in Harlington, Greater London.
Interior
The interior is a blank canvas for someone to add their own personality and vision.
Unfortunately, much of the original interior had to be removed due to age-related odour issues, but it still retains some eye-catching custom van features including:
Faux leather studded ceiling
Soft cream front seats
Rock and roll bed
Whether you're planning a camper conversion, retro cruiser, show van, or a full-on custom build with Mexican rugs and period-style seat covers, this van provides an excellent starting point.
Exterior
The bodywork is rugged and honest, with localised areas of corrosion and minor loss that are entirely consistent with a vehicle of this age. The most significant area is located to the rear rain gutter. It retains the sort of authentic patina that perfectly suits a classic American van of this era, giving it the character and presence that many restored vehicles lack.
It also retains an extra original front grille which are now very difficult to find.
Documentation & Parts
Records of work carried out are included, along with much of the supporting evidence for parts purchased, including receipts, packaging and invoices.
I also have additional spare parts and useful extras which can be included in the sale or purchased separately. These may be added to the listing with photographs at a later date.
Known Faults
In the interest of complete honesty:
Floor-mounted gear lever occasionally jams but remains operational.
Rear and side door weatherstripping requires replacement.
Driver and passenger window weatherstripping also requires replacement.

The extensive mechanical work was completed because I intended to keep the van permanently. However, I plan to move abroad and it now makes sense to sell. That said, if it doesn't find the right owner, I am perfectly happy to take it with me.
