Unique Ford Mustang Fastback V8 - American Automotive Icon in Show Condition
We present to you an exceptional example of a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback. It is an uncompromisingly restored collector's vehicle, representing an ideal combination of classic 1960s style with technical reliability at the level of a brand-new car. The vehicle underwent a full frame-off Nut-and-Bolt Restoration, carried out with attention to the smallest historical and engineering details.
The project was realized in cooperation with a renowned workshop that is a leader in the field of classic Ford Mustang restoration in Poland.
Only certified components and historical reproductions were used in the vehicle.
Body and Paint
The Fastback body structure was rebuilt from scratch using brand-new structural body elements. The whole structure was subjected to precision abrasive blasting, geometry verification on a jig, and full anti-corrosion protection. The whole process is topped off with multi-layer high-gloss paint finish and a set of new glass along with new tracks and seals.
Engine and Drivetrain
The heart of the car is a V8 unit based on a classic 289 cu in block (Windsor Small Block), which underwent a comprehensive, professional mechanical modification. The engine block was precisely bored and equipped with a performance Stroker 347 cu in kit (increasing displacement to approx. 5. 7L) - with a performance crankshaft with an increased stroke, new connecting rods, pistons, bearings, and camshaft. This provides powerful dynamics and power estimated at 350-400 HP as well as high torque from the lowest RPMs.
The engine is equipped with an efficient 24-inch aluminum radiator, a dedicated 4-barrel Holley 4160 carburetor (600 CFM) with an electric choke mounted on an aluminum intake, and a modern electronic ignition system with a 40, 000V chrome coil.
Drive is transmitted via a manual 5-speed Tremec T5 transmission with a legendary Hurst shifter (thanks to the 5th overdrive gear, the car performs great on the highway at low RPMs). A rebuilt, reinforced 8-inch rear axle with new bearings and seals is responsible for power transfer.
Suspension and Chassis
The chassis and braking system were significantly upgraded for safety and daily driving comfort. A full disc brake conversion was performed on both axles (front and rear SN95) with a brake proportioning valve. The suspension relies on Scott Drake gas shock absorbers, reinforced upper control arms, a thicker sway bar with polymer bushings, and new rear leaf springs. The sound of the classic V8 is emphasized by a dedicated dual exhaust system. The Mustang is equipped with iconic American Racing aluminum wheels fitted with modern, high-performance Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 tires.
Interior and Equipment
The interior of the vehicle was completely restored according to factory specifications. New seat upholstery, a new headliner, a restored dashboard, and original gauges after professional regeneration were used. All switches and ventilation controls operate faultlessly. The cabin was additionally insulated with soundproofing mats, which significantly increases travel comfort.
A new, complete air conditioning system is installed in the vehicle, guaranteeing full comfort even on hot days. Another rare and desirable detail is the fully functional "Silent-Flo" interior ventilation system - in the rear pillars there are grilles with OPEN/ CLOSED sliders, which are an absolute hallmark of the Fastback body.
The interior is adorned with a stylish 14-inch wooden steering wheel in the iconic "Eleanor" style. With passenger safety in mind, the classic lap belts were replaced with modern 3-point seatbelts.
Documentation and Readiness to Drive
The vehicle has full photographic documentation registering every stage of the restoration.
The Mustang is registered, insured, after a complete break-in service, and requires absolutely no financial contribution.
