A rare opportunity to make a genuine factory 1967 Mustang 390 your own. The car is now at the paint shop awaiting its full respray, which is included within the asking price. Before painting begins, the next owner still has the opportunity to choose the finished colour. Retain the iconic Bullitt-inspired Highland Green or choose something completely different – the choice is yours.
1967 Ford Mustang Fastback 390 V8 GT S-Code Manual. Finished in Highland Green with a black interior, this genuine factory 390 is a restored example that retains the character and specification which make the big-block GTs some of the most desirable Mustangs of the era.
Finished in Highland Green, the colour forever associated with the Mustang GT driven by Steve McQueen in the film Bullitt, this example is complemented by a black interior and sits on American Racing Torq Thrust wheels with black centres. Further specification includes power steering, front disc brakes, upgraded Auto Meter gauges, DAB radio, Sports Deck fold-down rear seat and the correct GT fuel cap.
The car has undergone a comprehensive restoration, with the mechanicals, underside and interior all presenting well. It was restored with the Bullitt Mustang firmly in mind, with the Highland Green paintwork intentionally left with some imperfections to recreate the appearance and character of the original movie car. Whilst this gives the car an authentic Bullitt-inspired look, we have decided to take the paintwork to the next level with a full respray to bring it in line with our usual retail standards.
Under the bonnet, the 390 GT V8 is presented in a clean and tidy engine bay, featuring correct-style chrome 390 GT valve covers and matching air cleaner assembly. The four-speed manual transmission remains an important part of the car’s appeal and delivers the engaging driving experience expected of a genuine big-block Mustang.
The underside presents well, with solid floor pans, chassis rails and a tidy rear axle assembly, reflecting the restoration work carried out during the car’s life.
The car is now at the paint shop, with the full respray included within the advertised asking price. Whilst Highland Green remains our intended choice, there is still a limited opportunity for the next owner to select an alternative colour before painting begins.
