Here's a nice original Discovery TD5, a pre-facelift top spec ES automatic in Monte Carlo Blue.
3 owners, 111k miles. Never molested, still on air suspension, kept under cover. Lovely to drive with armchair comfort. Reluctantly for sale due to purchase of Freelander 2, being smaller and more suitable for a learner.
Totally reliable and instant starter in my two and a half year ownership, in first class mechanical condition, just serviced this month and new MoT (no advisories), ready for new owner. At the same time cleaned and sprayed underneath with Waxoyl, all done by the renowned LR specialists Bumfords of Meifod who report that the chassis is good. New battery a few weeks ago. Tyres not brilliant but should be good for 2k or so.
Excellent bodywork, one tiny ding barely noticeable and a bit of paint blistering just below the nsr window (see pic), also a tiny bit on the tailgate below the window. Fitted original LR sidesteps integral with mudflaps. At some point it's had a repair to the inner nsr arch, only visible with the door open.
Nice pale grey leather interior with no splits or cracks but a bit of nice patina. 7 seater but never used the occasional seats. Sunroofs don't leak, good carpets with front overmats. Two keys.
Everything works apart from the ACE which a previous owner disabled with the conversion kit (a cousin who works for JLR advised me to leave it that way), and the aircon. I had it regassed with a new drier but it only lasted a couple of days and was diagnosed as needing a new condenser at around £100 which I never got around to. The ES spec includes cruise, heated front seats & screen, Harman Kardon sound system with cassette player, compass, wind deflectors , tinted glass and maybe more. Jack, wheelbrace, hand books, all present & correct. Towbar I think includes caravan electrics. Oh, and the engine's been remapped, so livelier than usual.
Note that the cherished numberplate is not included and it will presumably revert to MD51CEJ.
Viewing welcome, we're around 30 miles SW of Shrewsbury. Currently on SORN due to the Freelander, but can be driven on private land.
