Description
Selling on behalf of a good friend who unfortunately due to a previous stroke is unable to continue with the restoration.
This is a rare Capri mk1 facelift I believe in its original tawny brown.
From what I am told it was originally automatic and only had 2 previous owners from new up until my friend acquired it. It was originally bought as a spares car for another project but after it was acquired and found to be such a low ownership car it was decided not to break the car up for parts.
It is fitted with a 1. 6 pinto overhead camshaft engine and manual gearbox. It does start and drive for loading purposes only as the brakes are not working, may just need bleeding.
It has had what looks like most if not all of the welding done which will want some tidying and finishing, this includes outer sills and rear arches, it has also had both front wings and front valance replaced with good secondhand ones. It has excellent A and B posts, and inner front wings as per pictures.
Interior looks very original and pretty much complete.
It has a very nice original vinyl roof and headlining.
The car is running from a bottle under the bonnet as we didnt know the condition of the tank.
Still has its original Ford supplying dealer number plates with the letter H for Hooleys stamped in the middle along with the original rear window sticker. All the glass is also etched with original number. You can also see the last tax disc in the window.
Have the current V5 along with 2 older versions plus an old mot.
This is by no means a weekends work to finish, however all in all it is a rare and worthwhile project for someone with the means to finish what has become an iconic piece of British motoring hidtory, the Ford Capri the car you always promised yourself.
Please genuine enquiries only thanks.
