Description
1998 BMW 528i E39 Auto – Glacier Green / Rare Green Montana Leather – 2 Former Keepers
A very unusual and beautifully specified 1998 BMW 528i E39, finished in Glacier Green Metallic with the exceptionally rare Green Montana leather interior.
The car was originally supplied by Priory BMW, Newcastle upon Tyne, and has had just 2 former keepers. One of its previous owners acquired the car in 2003 and kept it for approximately 20 years, which helps explain how such an unusual specification has survived so well.
More recently, the BMW formed part of a privately owned classic car collection, from which I purchased it. It has also appeared at classic car meets and enthusiast events around the UK, where the colour combination attracts a great deal of attention.
What makes this particular E39 stand out is undoubtedly its specification. The exterior is finished in subtle Glacier Green Metallic, but it is the interior that really makes the car special. The cabin was specified in Green Montana leather, complemented by matching green carpeting and trim together with contrasting burr wood veneer.
It is an exceptionally uncommon combination and very different from the usual black, grey or beige interiors seen in most surviving E39s. In person, the colour works beautifully with the Glacier Green exterior and gives the car a distinctive late-1990s BMW luxury feel.
The car has covered approximately 81, 000 miles and retains its BMW book pack together with a documented service history including 11 service stamps.
The 2. 8-litre straight-six engine combined with the automatic transmission makes this a particularly smooth and relaxed example of the E39 — a model increasingly recognised as one of BMW's finest executive saloons.
A very interesting opportunity for somebody looking for an E39 that is genuinely different from the majority on the market — particularly because of its low ownership, mileage, provenance and extremely unusual colour combination.
