A unique opportunity to acquire a recently restored UK delivered RHD Lamborghini Countach 5000S, CLA12487 was delivered in April of 1982 to Portman Lamborghini London, it was the 16th of 321 cars produced and only the second of 33 RHD examples, This particular example has remained in the UK throughout its life and its previous owners can be traced all the way back to its date of first registration.

The early life of the vehicle saw it featured in a number of publications including on the cover of the 1998 book by Paul W. Cockerham 'Lamborghini: The Spirit Of The Bull' and the June 2000 edition of Classic & Sports Car Magazine where it was driven by Derek Bell, that same year it also appeared in an episode of Top Gear whereby it was driven by Vicky Butler-Henderson.

Having been acquired by its penultimate owner in 2000, after 3, 000KM and 8 years of use its then owner decided CLA12487 would undergo a restoration, Reflections restoration specialists began the task of returning this vehicle to its former glory, however by 2011 Reflections went out of business leaving the vehicle in a dismantled state, rather than being moved elsewhere the vehicle returned home and was stored in its unfinished state until September 2021 where it once again was thrust into the spotlight when it was offered for sale by Historics Auctioneers as a restoration project.

After successfully winning the auction, the new owner packaged up the dismantled car along with more than 50 boxes of parts and instructed E. M. Rogers to deliver it directly to G. A. Restauri SRL in Modena who were entrusted to restore the vehicle under the supervision of Valentino Balboni,

Upon its arrival in Modena, during the initial assessment Valentino and the fantastic team at G. A. Restauri found that despite being dismantled over a decade earlier, only 4 parts were missing, 3 plastic pieces of dashboard trim and the dashboard clock, whilst the plastic trims were easily replaced, the dashboard clock proved a little more difficult and much more expensive to source. The bodywork was found to be mostly in good condition but inspection of the steel tube frame revealed some minor repairs required to the rear of the luggage compartment, after the assessment was completed an initial estimate totalling 212, 000 Euros was agreed upon and thus a 3 year restoration of the vehicle commenced,

The body of the vehicle was stripped to a bare shell, placed upon a vehicle rotisserie to allow any required repairs to take place to the chassis and bodyshell, before being refinished in its original Nero paintwork,

The mechanical overhaul included a complete rebuild of the engine, transmission, differential, suspension, brakes and steering, utilising all new hydraulic parts along with a new clutch assembly.

The electronics were completely overhauled with all electrical motors, fans and lighting rebuilt along with new wiring.

Finally the interior of the vehicle was completely refinished in a period correct shade of Champagne leather, this was achieved using original Countach hides that were purchased as surplus stocks when production ended.

In October 2024 the owner was able to visit the now completed vehicle and undertake the first test drive alongside Valentino Balboni, the vehicle finally returned to the UK in early 2025 whereby it was featured in the April 2025 edition of the Lamborghini Club UK magazine 'Revista Veloce'.

The vehicle has been used sparingly over the last 2 years and has been displayed at various shows, most recently one of 50 classics chosen to be displayed at Salon Prive in September of 2026.
