Description
1980 Volvo 245dl. 2. 1 petrol 4 speed (no overdrive). 41, 000 miles from new. Lovely honest condition throughout, however she's not concours condition by any means. The underneath is fantastic condition, no welding repairs, no corrosion, original underbody sealant I would think by the looks of it.
The paintwork is very good, with minor blemishes and dents, but rust free!
Refurbished original rims powder coated to a high standard with no evidence of pitting.
The interior is very good original condition, no fading, no rips or burns, door cards are great.
originally from Tollbar Volvo in Coventry, it had one owner between 1980 & 1982. In 1982 it was purchased from the same Coventry dealer and a Datsun was placed in part exchange against it. The 245 was in use until 1991 at which time it had 39k and then it was placed in the home garage due to the owner retiring from driving. After the passing of the owner, in 2019 the 245 was brought back out into daylight and used occasionally amongst family members.
In November 2025 my brother and I had purchased the 245, it's paintwork was very flat, surface rusting on the wheels, and requiring general tlc.
Having done all this, aswell as a new head gasket, cambelt kit, waterpump, oil flush, various ignition parts, we have used it for a few shows in late summer but now are looking on to the next chapter for the project classic car journey.
Part exchanges will be considered, 70s-90s cars requiring work....
