Description
1978 Honda CB750 F1 - UK Bike - NOT AN IMPORT
Some specification info:
It's the F1 model which was the more performance oriented of the CB750 lineup at the time. It's a lighter bike, coming with a 4 into 1 performance exhaust instead of the 2 into 2 that you see common on the K fours of that era. The F1 came with a fully chrome block and spoked wheels for more of that true 70s classic look. Not to be confused with the later and much more common F2's which had the comstar wheels and a half chrome block.
Now the actual bike:
It has been fully restored by the previous owner. Was sat in a barn for many years before that (got a printed out picture of how it was found in it's original condition)
Nearly all of the parts on it are a OEM replacements or the original 1978 parts. Freshly powder coated frame and all re-chromed accessories as well as a new engine, fresh pistons, rings and the list goes on. It's absolutely spotless inside and out.
The exhaust is one of one custom made from aftermarket front pipes welded to a modified standard exhaust to try and retain that stock look as 99% of bikes from this era have shorter modified exhausts. It's got much more of an authentic and throaty sound compared to the aftermarket Delkevic or Yoshi pipes that are commonly found on CB's of this era.
Cold start video is attached, the bike runs and rides excellently for its age, it starts better than most used modern bikes! It's so much fun to ride I've personally put around 500 miles in the last four weeks and that will increase as i'm using it for fun over the summer. Obviously not as comfortable as a modern machine but it's no where near as agricultural as say a 1970s British bike.
It's a 1978 bike so is a registered classic and is both tax and MOT exempt, also much cheaper to insure compared to a modern 60hp bike. I've got a big folder of paperwork and receipts. Genuinely stunning piece of machinery from that generation and would absolutely win awards if taken to a classics show. I ride it all the time so it definitely can be ridden away post sale.
