Hi there, say hello to Penelope, my 1996 Jeep Cherokee XJ Sport.
Purchased privately in September 2022, Penelope was one of those vehicles I just knew I had to have the moment I saw her. Some cars are just transport where others have a bit more personality, the Jeep is firmly in the second category.
With her unmistakable XJ styling, Deep Hunter Green paintwork and proper old-school 4x4 character, she's easily been one of my favourite vehicles I've owned. Purchased purely for pleasure, she's never let me down on my trips around the UK and has always been such a joy to take out. It's just time for someone else to enjoy her and make a few adventures of their own.

Please note: the remote central locking fob is not currently working
During my four years of ownership, I've invested in getting Penelope sorted and keeping her in good order. A number of parts have been replaced and I have receipts for parts purchased alongside an invoice for labour carried out. MOT until 04 March 2027 - Tax £32 pcm or £375 for the year
Cooling system 2022
* Replacement radiator
* New thermostat and gasket

* Both lower rear shock absorber bushes replaced
* Nearside reverse light bulb replaced
* Rear exhaust mounting replaced
* Exhaust clamp fitted to replace the previous two jubilee clips
* New battery
* Oil and filter change
* New air filter

Condition:
Bodywork Generally tidy, although the bonnet lacquer has weathered.
Underside has some corrosion consistent with the vehicle's age, but nothing excessive or currently identified as requiring immediate repair.
Interior is tidy overall, with a slight tear to the driver's seat and a sagging headlining.
The selectable 2WD/ 4WD system are working.
No other known faults other than the remote central locking fob not currently working.
This is a 1996 vehicle so it should be viewed with the expectations appropriate to a nearly 30 year old 4x4
