Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato 1300 – 1972 – 2. 0-Litre Engine
This Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato, chassis number AR1800688, has an exceptionally well-documented history. According to the certificate issued by the Centro Documentazione Alfa Romeo, the car was manufactured on 16 February 1971 and delivered one week later, originally destined for Amsterdam.
The factory records confirm that the car was originally finished in Rosso with a Skai Nero interior, a classic colour combination that it has retained to this day.
The car was first registered in Belgium in September 1972 and is accompanied by its original Certificate of Conformity (CoC), issued by Alfa Romeo Benelux S. A.
In October 1996, the car was purchased from Jacques Peirs of JAC Cars in Desselgem by Nicolas Willemot, a Belgian Alfa Romeo enthusiast who subsequently kept the car for almost twenty years. The original purchase invoice is available, further supporting the car’s documented history.
Between 2013 and 2015, the Junior Zagato underwent an extensive restoration by RSC Automobile, an Alfa Romeo specialist based in Lauwe. The work included the gearbox, braking system, bodywork and interior. Originally equipped with a 1, 300 cc engine, the car is now powered by a 2. 0-litre Alfa Romeo engine, rebuilt in 2016 by Motorenrevisie Marrecau. This upgrade provides a more spirited driving experience while retaining the character of Alfa Romeo’s classic sporting heritage. Documented expenditure on the restoration and associated works exceeded €20, 000.
Today, this Junior Zagato presents in very attractive condition, reflecting the care invested in its restoration. The bodywork is in excellent condition, while the attractive 14-inch alloy wheels complement the car’s distinctive and sporty design.
A rare opportunity to acquire a beautifully presented Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato with documented factory provenance, a long Belgian ownership history and the added appeal of its 2. 0-litre engine.
