Description
I am finally, after 40yrs, hanging up the leathers - well, textiles these days! I think, after an awful lot of others, this is probably my favourite bike for comfort, fun, touring abilities and the astonishing 70mpg - returned however you ride it.
For my lanky 6'4" I've made some adaptations, all easily reversible and the parts to do so are included. It currently has: lowered footpegs, tall saddle, bar risers, a Givi Airflow screen. These make all day riding a joy. The standard saddle is included too.
Also included are: an ignition switched accessory box which powers the DRL feed (these are switched on the handlebars too), Tom Tom sat nav feed and Oxford heated grips. The Tom Tom mount is on a screen bar for easy heads up viewing. It is fitted with a genuine Suzuki centrestand.
Both tyres are almost brand new - 500m old in fact. It has an advisory free MoT until Aug 27. I replaced the suspension linkage bushes/ bearings after an advisory in Aug 2025. It's fully serviced, including the 15k valve clearance check, and I have the records to confirm that.
For touring it comes with a Givi Maxxia two helmet topbox and a pair of Givi panniers and Givi engine bars. Aprilia mirrors help, along with the screen, to eliminate the buffeting the standard set up creates. A Givi hugger protects the shock absorber and a FendaExtenda protects the engine from front wheel mess. A stainless radiator cover and AS3 ally belly pan eliminate the danger of stone/ rock damage too. It sports reflective stickers to encourage drivers to be cautious in case I might be the law in their mirrors. These are easily removed which I am happy to do for you if you wish.
It's a delightful ride, light and easy handling in feel and with an astonishing range because of its frugality. I've had many BMWs over the years, including GSs, and this is much less tiring to ride over distance. Perhaps you'll enjoy that feature along with the excellent, dependable reliability that eludes the modern Bavarian tank.
I'm asking £4k for the full touring package but I'm open to a sensible offer in that ball park. Obviously, it's the wrong season but I'm fine to hang on until next year - I suppose I'm saying it's not worth your typing time to offer 50p in hope although that's exactly what I've always done so it won't offend me if you do! I'd love you to look first, I'm in Bath, Somerset, and I'm happy to take you for a spin on the back. I've been IAM and RoSPA Gold for thirty years so I won't frighten you with any knee down antics. I also have a good kettle, cups and T bags and a love of bike chat both modernish and classic.
I think that's about it. Do ask if I've missed anything you'd like to know. A few pics are attached of it both bare and fitted with the touring kit so you get the idea. Ride safe and enjoy.
