Description
Full nut and bolt restoration 2 years ago with some sympathetic upgrades including front disc brakes, alternator, electronic ignition, front retracting seat belts, lead free head.
The bodywork was completely restored with 4 new wings, new inner wings and chassis rails, 2 perfect doors (1 new old stock). New floors sills and jacking points, new spring brackets.
Rear woodwork is all new.
All chrome work is new, new alloy wheels and tyres less than 100 miles.
Interior is all new including seat covers, carpets and rear area covering.
Engine has been completely rebuilt with new pistons, shells, duplex timing chain, gasflowed head and new distributor with electronic ignition. New coil and fuel pump and new carburettor from Burlen.
There is a folder full of receipts, no expense was spared when restoring this traveller and there is no rust or filler repairs at all.
I wanted a traveller to celebrate my wifes fathers 90th birthday as they were his favourite car and the family went on many holidays in one. Bought as a project not requiring any welding from ebay but everything has been done to such a poor standard it was better to start again and hence the 2 year restoration taking up most of my spare time. I am retired now by still enjoy restoring classic cars having previously restored an MGA and many austin 7s for a friend.
