Description
This 944 started life as a 1986 2. 5 lux. The previous owner engine swapped it to a turbo and extensively modified it for track use. I bought the car in 2019 with 149 thousand miles on the clock. I brought the car back a few steps from track focus and used it for weekend blasts and car shows. I did manage a couple of track days over the years where it performed faultlessly.
I have included a modifications list by my self and the previous owner in the photos. Happy to provide more details for serious enquiries. I don’t have any evidence of the previous owners works just the advert from John seal sports cars where I purchased it. I did however communicate with the previous owner who did the engine swap. He was helpful
The car has no radio, no back seats, no ABS, no power steering and no A/ C
The interior has like new cobra bucket seats and full new carpets through out. The roof lining is removed as the sunroof needs sorting.
The car has a few stone chips and marks on the paintwork but no rust or corrosion. It presents well. I have had most of it resprayed. The front bumper is 8cm off the ground so takes a beating. It has some stress cracks . The rear bumper has a scuff on the rubber. The roof has some scratches and the sunroof is currently siliconed shut as I was intending on deleting it but had second thoughts and never got round to a decision. This will be for the new owner to decide, tin top or manual sunroof. The front hella fog lamps are not wired up but the wires are there from the previous fog lights.
Despite a full engine rebuild it does leak a bit of oil, doesn’t affect the MOT or how the car functions. I just keep an eye on it. No change since the rebuild.
Other than that it’s a great drive. Quite raw as the solid gearbox mount is noisy but that’s only noticeable off boost. The turbo blow off valve and induction noise is addictive. With zero driver aids it requires full concentration. Very engaging weekend drive and a blast on track. Stays cool and pulls hard through the gears. Approx 280bhp. Always well received everywhere it goes, the gold paint really shows off the box arch’s.
Time for some one else to continue the project and enjoy the car
