Description
Very rare club sport version (1/ 70)! Full service history Fully original Born from the ashes of GT1 racing, the Porsche 996 GT2 has established itself as a force to be reckoned with. After the demise of the GT1 class in 1999, GT2 became the queen of GT racing, and Porsche wasted no time in creating what can only be described as the ultimate adrenaline machine. The 996 GT2 is the rebellious offspring of a 911 Turbo and a GT3. It combines the ferocious twin-turbo power of the Turbo with the agility and lightness of the GT3 and its rear-wheel drive. The result? A car that is raw, unfiltered and resolutely brutal. No traction control, no stability aid - just you, 462bhp and a pair of sweaty hands trying to stay in control. We're delighted to present this superb example of one of the 70 Factory 996 GT2 Clubsport cars ever produced. As a first-year production model, this rare gem is finished in a striking Polar Silver paint, perfectly complemented by a black interior and its factory Clubsport specification. The highly sought-after Clubsport pack transforms the already formidable GT2 into a true track-focused machine. It includes fire-retardant cloth bucket seats, six-point harnesses, a full roll bar, an external battery isolator and a larger fire extinguisher - all of which are still present and original to this day. Today, with the incredibly low number of cars produced, finding a 996 GT2 is a challenge in itself - let alone a car in very good condition and with low mileage. After all, many of these cars have lived up to their motto: "Drive it like you stole it". This car, however, tells a different story. With just 49, 000 km on the clock, it's like stepping into a time machine - not only in pristine original condition, but lovingly maintained throughout its life. You'll find its service book carefully stamped and a mountain of invoices to prove it's been pampered. The last service was carried out in our specialist workshop and, as you'd expect, this car is ready to go. All you have to do is climb aboard, turn the key and let the driving fun begin! And, as you'd expect from its looks, driving this GT2 is an experience like no other. The twin turbos hit with enough force to change your priorities, and the rear-wheel drive chassis and manual gearbox reward those brave enough to tame it. The good news is that the car has been given new tyres - it's now ready to grip the road as firmly as you'll grip the steering wheel! If you thought the 911 Turbo was the epitome of acceleration and handling, think again: the GT2 takes things to a whole new level. There's plenty of power, but weighing in at just 1, 440 kg - 100 kg less than the Turbo - the GT2 uses physics to its advantage. Under the bonnet, the 3. 6-litre twin-turbo flat-six delivers relentless power, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in just 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 315 kph. It was literally the fastest and most powerful Porsche road car of its day. But there's more to the GT2 than brute force. The suspension has been completely revised by the factory and lowered by 20 mm compared to the Turbo, ensuring better handling and a more aggressive stance. Combined with the high rear wing and prominent air intakes in front of the bonnet, the result is nothing short of pure testosterone - a machine built for pure, unrelenting purpose. If you're looking for a car that sticks to you and won't let go, the 996 GT2 is exactly what you need. Often regarded as the black sheep of the GT2 line, the 996 has remained relatively undervalued compared to its iconic predecessors. But make no mistake, it certainly isn't outdone! It's the next big thing! This car comes with the original Porsche leather case, all the booklets, including the stamped service book, and a full folder of invoices.
