A Collector's Limited Edition, packed with performance and equipment, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the legendary Porsche 911! Presented in August 2003, this Porsche 996, produced in a limited edition of 1963, is known under the names "40 Jahre" or "Anniversary", and is a fitting celebration of the 40th anniversary of the 911, launched in ... 1963! Based on the Porsche 996 Carrera Phase 2, it is distinguished by its front bumper, taken from the 996 Carrera 4S and Turbo (with the grilles painted in the body colour: GT Silver metallic, the colour of ... the Hyper car Carrera GT). The side sills are taken from the 996 GT3, while the 18-inch 5-spoke wheels are bead-blasted, a process already used on the 996 Millennium limited series. At the rear, a specific "911 - 40 Jahre" logo and chromed tailpipes complete the identification of this very fine limited series, of which fewer than 1, 550 units were actually produced at the time... Today, there are only around 1, 300 left in the world! The famous 3. 6-litre flat 6 of the Porsche 996 Carrera Phase 2, combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox, saw its power rise from 320 to 345 bhp, thanks to the adoption of the X51 engine kit as standard... The suspension was lowered by 10 mm and the limited slip differential came as standard. The performance figures are well up to scratch: Top speed 290 km/ h, 0 to 100 km/ h in 4. 9 s, 0 to 200 in 16. 5 s and 80 to 120 km/ h in 5th gear in 6. 5 s ... all in an exceptionally pleasant atmosphere, accompanied by a bewitching, controlled sound! Inside, the dashboard and door panels are covered in dark grey natural leather with a distinctive grain pattern. The shells of the sports seats are painted in Porsche Silver GT, as is the centre console. A special aluminium trim surrounds the speedometers, a matching strip adorns the dashboard, and a small '911' plaque indicating the model number sits in front of the gear lever. Particularly well equipped, this model comes as standard with an electric sunroof, heated sports seats and a high-performance BOSE system with CD player. Porsche also accompanied its limited series with suitcases (for our example, the full-size model will be supplied at the time of sale). A must for collectors! Our very handsome example is N° 1408 of the Limited Series (See photos) and its first registration is dated 4/ 11/ 2004 in France, in the French version! So it's one of the last and has had very few owners until our seller, who has owned it since the beginning of 2021. It is in very good condition, both in terms of presentation and operation, and is strictly in keeping with its original state. It is richly equipped, with a good number of optional extras (list available): Sport chassis, 40% self-locking differential, electric seats and mirrors, headlamp cleaning system, heated seats, CD changer and BOSE stereo, cruise control, PSM (Porsche Stability Management), anti-theft alarm, automatic air conditioning, electric sliding roof, on-board computer, navigation and vintage telephone equipment, leather interior, tinted windscreen with a darker upper section, etc. It's hard to beat that! Its history is clear, and it has been the object of precious and regular care by its successive owners, with a substantial file of invoices and history, available at the time of sale. With regular servicing by a network of Porsche specialists. Since 2021, methodical servicing and maintenance has been carried out by a well-known and recognised Porsche specialist in the Hauts-de-France region, with almost €5, 000 worth of recent invoices on file: tyres, brakes, rim renovation, miscellaneous servicing, etc. In 2024, at 83, 000 km, the clutch and its environment were replaced to ensure greater ease of use. Routine maintenance is included in the sale price. To date, the odometer shows just 84, 900 km, which is completely consistent with the various invoices that have been available since the car was first sold! The vehicle registration document is normal, the roadworthiness test valid for the sale dates from the beginning of April 2025, and all the previous tests were also faultless... For your information, a very positive appraisal summarised as "very good general condition" was carried out in April 2021 for our owner's purchase, who has taken particular care of his vehicle ever since, with all the attention required! It is also available in the file. In short, thanks to its sober but immediately recognisable design, its particularly rich and specific equipment and its limited number of numbered examples, the 996 Anniversaire '40 Jahre' ticks all the boxes to continue being a highly coveted 996. As a result, its price has risen steadily over the last few years, and continues to do so...
