Beige leather interior, burgundy carpet with beige piping. The MG SA, a 2. 3-litre six-cylinder, was launched in 1935 and was developed to offer MG in the upper class of the Alvis, SS and Lagonda. This MG SA chassis left the factory with a saloon body, but between 2002 and 2009 it was restored and fitted with a stunningly beautiful special 'open tourer' body in the style of a Swiss 'Keller'. The hand-crafted ash-framed coachwork was supplied and installed by MG SA/ VA/ WA specialists SVW Ltd in Hull. This famous British company built seven "Keller" style bodies. In the late 1930s, twelve such chassis were built in collaboration with the Keller and Reinbold & Christie companies in Zurich, Switzerland. One of the original 'Keller' cars is still known in the USA. This magnificent MG SA 'Keller' Special is one of seven reconstructions built by SVW Ltd. The MG SA chassis, restored and overhauled, features original components with some improvements. The body consists of an ash frame, metal panels and aluminium doors. Features and improvements: The 2. 3-litre engine was increased to 2, 560 cm³ with a higher compression ratio of 8:1. Larger valves (MG VA) were fitted, and the crankshaft was rectified and balanced. Balanced and weighted MGA pistons, connecting rod bearings and a lightened flywheel were fitted. A faster camshaft was installed, an optimised oil pump and reinforced valve seats were fitted to allow the use of unleaded petrol. The radiator was improved with a 4-core cooling block instead of the original 3 cores and an electric fan, while the original gearbox was overhauled with new parts and a synchroniser. The chassis and suspension were upgraded with telescopic shock absorbers, reinforced springs (the second leaf spring from the top is 1mm thicker), 72-spoke wheels with Blockley tyres and a hydraulic braking system with two main shoes on the front drum brakes. In addition, a larger fuel tank (75 litres) was fitted and EZ electric power steering was installed. This magnificent MG SA 'Keller' special is in exceptional condition and drives and handles wonderfully! Only 2, 738 MG SA chassis have ever left the MG factory in Abingdon-on-Thames.
