Description

Your classic car specialist Martin Moteurs today presents an extraordinary time capsule: The Maserati 3500 GTiS Origin France - 2nd hand since 1979 Exceptional history - A car that's alive and ready to drive In February 1964, this Maserati left the factory in its GTiS configuration with aluminium Superleggera bodywork by Touring, in superb Grigrio Mettallizato paintwork and a striking red interior.

Sold new in France, it has only had two owners. Since 1979, the car has been owned by the same passionate family. Unlike many models that are 'restored to sleep', this Maserati has been driven. Not to fetch bread, or to be displayed in a car park on a Sunday, no, it's really been driven. It's the complete opposite of the so-called Garage Queens. For nearly fifteen years, it took part in the Grand Prix du Forez Historique, demonstrating its reliability, balance and endurance. This car is just a 6 in line, a 5 speed gearbox, seats as comfortable as our grandparents' sofa, and 220 Italian horses. Just that, yes, and a line to die for. But isn't that the recipe for happiness? Today, it works perfectly. It starts without hesitation, brakes straight, and retains the mechanical nobility typical of the great Maserati six-cylinders. It's not aesthetically perfect - the leather has a patina, the paintwork has aged - but it's real. A major overhaul was carried out in November 2023, at a cost of almost €45, 000, in the AS Classic Engineering workshops. All the documentation relating to this operation is available on request. Here are some of the operations carried out:

- Completely overhauled brakes (master cylinder, wheel cylinders, hoses) - Overhauled cooling system - Restored front suspension and steering (ball joints, silent blocks, shock absorbers) - New ignition (spark plugs, coil, wiring harness, battery) - Complete overhaul of the fuel system - Restored exhaust system - New tyres - Careful adjustment of the Weber carburettors The Lucas injection system was removed in favour of Weber carburettors - a conscious technical choice, widely practised to guarantee reliability and ease of adjustment. All the windows are still engraved, and the reading light on the passenger side is still there, as is the Jaeger watch. An engine fan override has been added, so you don't have to worry about stopping for more than 3 minutes at a red light in August. The underpinnings are clean, with no signs of impact or other dubious repairs. A new anti-corrosion treatment has been applied to maintain this condition, so this singular car is made to drive. It is now looking for a new owner to continue writing its history on the road. For any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us. The vehicle can be viewed at our premises in Brignais (69), by appointment.
