An incredible numbered specimen: a unique factory colour, a single owner and … less than 30, 000 KM! VEITURA is particularly pleased to today present for sale this truly UNIQUE specimen of a major French sporting figure from the 2000s… Contemporary with the famous CLIO 2, the CLIO V6 was first shown at the Paris Motor Show in 1998, on the 100th anniversary of the RENAULT brand. Public interest and success were immediate for this Concept Car which was notably the stylistic work of Patrick LE QUEMENT’s team. Following Group decisions and in connection with the launch of the CLIO V6 TROPHY race formula, the CLIO V6 “Phase 1” was designed and built in partnership with TWR teams in England and Sweden. It was produced from November 2000. The CLIO V6 “Phase 2” (like our example) took over in June 2003. With advanced road behaviour and vehicle dynamics, this ultimate version underwent numerous technical improvements under RENAULT SPORT’s auspices, including a power upgrade and engine characteristics (in liaison with PORSCHE), stylistic and aesthetic evolutions, and a number of appreciated refinements. It is also newly manufactured in DIEPPE (76) at the historic plant, cradle of the ALPINE brand, well known for assembling many sporty and original Renault models in the lozengy badge! The CLIO V6, aimed 20 years after the famous R5 Turbo, to promote and celebrate RENAULT’s involvement in competition, was produced until July 2005. For a total global phases 1 and 2 of less than 3000 units … making it today a coveted Collector, with a regularly rising value, in the wake of its illustrious predecessor, which has already reached new heights… On the technical side, in a few words, it is powered by the famous V6 ESL engine, mid-rear mounted, specifically revised on the top end: displacement 2946 cm3, and here in phase 2 a power of 255 HP at 7150 rpm with a torque of 300 Nm at 4650 rpm. It is matched to a 6-speed mechanical PK6 gearbox, rear-wheel drive. The wide, muscular bodywork is largely composite and the assembly is among the most meticulous! In terms of chassis, the Clio V6 is of course equipped with four ventilated discs and performance MacPherson-type suspension. Performance and driving pleasure are indeed up to the mark with a top speed close to 250 km/ h, a 0 to 100 in 5. 8 seconds and revs with astonishing suppleness, in a highly appreciated engine–exhaust acoustic ambience… Our magnificent example is the ONLY one produced in the colour GRIS TECHNIQUE (Renault reference D61 – used for the MEGANE RS). It was ordered as a special commission, validated by the Manufacturer’s Services (archival documents available). Numerous specialist books and reports mention the existence of this solitary numbered unit N°1077, and they are today available (see a few excerpts in the attached photos). It still belongs today to its first owner, a Renault Group executive, who ordered it in 2004 and took possession for registration on 24/ 11/ 2004. This enthusiast, trained in mechanics and a recognised expert in his field, has long been involved and interested in the sporty and rare models of the various Alpine and Renault brand variants… The car is in a “collection” state in every respect, interior and exterior, as shown by the photos, and of course strictly compliant with the origin. It has never been used on circuit, apart from two “pilgrimages” of enthusiasts in 20 years for themed gatherings! As noted, it bears N° 1077 out of 1309 (CLIO V6 Phase 2), one of the last produced, incorporating the final evolutions on the assembly line. It has never been offered for sale! Our enthusiastic seller owns several pleasure vehicles in superb condition and has himself pampered and maintained his magnificent and unique CLIO V6 like clockwork over these 20 years, covering a total of less than 30, 000 km. All maintenance and servicing records are of course rigorously logged in a binder. In recent years, the main work has included, in addition to regular periodic servicing with all necessary components, the timing belt replaced twice (the last one less than 2000 km ago), ignition coils, some electrical/ connectivity items, the battery, the starter, motor mounts, brake servicing, etc… A service and the fitting of four new tyres have been carried out for the sale.
