L’Atelier des 1000 is pleased to offer for sale this rare Citroën ZX 2. 0 16V Pierre Lartigue edition, presented here in its original Rouge Lucifer red with a black fabric interior featuring a pattern.
Launched in just 50 numbered examples, the Citroën ZX 2. 0i 16V Pierre Lartigue Edition was produced in 1998 to celebrate Citroën’s mythical wins in the Rally-Raid, notably the Paris-Dakar with driver Pierre Lartigue, a three-time winner between 1994 and 1996 at the wheel of a ZX Rallye-Raid.
Primarily aimed at the Swiss market, this very limited edition stands out with its Rouge Lucifer hue, its black patterned seats and its dual rear spoilers inspired by competition.
A true homage to the brand’s sporting involvement in the 1990s, this rare edition is now regarded as a discreet collector’s item among enthusiasts.
As a premium model in the ZX range, the 16-valve version develops 167 horsepower thanks to a lively, naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, paired with a perfectly stepped manual gearbox.
The example we are offering here is number 19/ 50 and was new to Switzerland in February 1998, then imported to France in 2023.
Its owner, whom we bought it from a few months ago, is naturally facing a change in financial circumstances and entrusts the car to us for sale, now offered at a revised price.
Our example shows 157, 600 km on the odometer and is presented in very good overall condition.
Mechanically, the engine runs perfectly, with strong revs and nice low-end flexibility.
The 5-speed gearbox offers precise guidance, with no hiccups, and the clutch shows no signs of wear or weakness.
The original exhaust line contributes to a sober but expressive sound at high revs.
Braking is powerful and balanced, aided by the recent replacement of the front discs.
The chassis is sound, the original suspension performs its role well, and the running gear is in excellent condition with no play.
The bodywork, in Rouge Lucifer, presents well and retains a nice shine; minor defects are to be noted, which could be attended to in a body shop.
The wheels are in perfect condition and shod with Yokohama tyres in very good condition.
The original interior is very well preserved. The black patterned fabric seats with red and blue accents are well preserved for the car’s mileage; the headlining is clean, and the dashboard and rest of the cabin are in very good condition.
The instrumentation works perfectly, and the sporty ambience of the ZX 16V is fully preserved.
Given the condition and rarity of this example, we are asking €29, 990. Part-exchange and trade-ins possible.
