Few brands generate as much loyalty and enthusiasm as Lancia. Very advanced for their time, a Lancia Gran Turismo from the 1950s and early 1960s was, without doubt, a car for true connoisseurs.
It was also the choice of champions. The Argentine Juan-Manuel Fangio, winner of five world championships and of the 1953 Carrera Panamericana at the wheel of a Lancia D24, chose an Aurelia B20 GT for the long journeys from Modena or Maranello to races across Europe far and wide.
Thus, in 1958, when Carrozzeria Zagato, the masters of lightweight construction and racing aerodynamics, worked their magic on the new Flaminia GT, a legend was born.
Undoubtedly a Lancia, without question a Zagato: the new car was destined for greatness.
The model shown left the Lancia factories equipped with the 2. 5L six-cylinder, but it was later fitted with the 2. 8L single-carburettor engine (the original engine stays with the car) for more performance.
It was fully restored before the current owner acquired it; he has since invested considerable sums to improve reliability, being a keen motorway enthusiast who takes part in many rallies and wants cars that are easy and reliable.
It is a car in which one can embark on long journeys with complete confidence; its olive-grey livery is striking and pairs perfectly with its cream interior.
