Description
Peugeot 304 S Coupé – March 1973 – 72, 000 km – Full history
I’m putting up for sale a March 1973 Peugeot 304 S Coupé, in its original spec, showing nearly 72, 000 km.
Body & Chassis:
- The car is blue, in its original colour.
- The bodywork is overall very nice, with only a few very light cosmetic flaws (minor surface scuffs, nothing structural).
Upholstery & Interior:
- The brown faux leather upholstery is in good overall condition.
- The front seats show patina in keeping with age, the rear seats are in excellent condition.
- The headliner is in excellent condition.
Mechanical condition:
- The car is in very good mechanical condition overall.
- It’s fitted with electronic ignition, installed by a professional garage in 2018.
- It’s a car that’s regularly driven, reliable, ready to cover long distances without issue.
Notable points:
- The chassis is perfectly sound, with no corrosion or blaxing (blaxonnage): certified by a professional classic-car workshop (September 2025).
- The exhaust silencer is slightly fatigued and will probably need refurbishing or replacing in the coming years.
- The car underwent a repair to the left-hand flank (driver’s side) in July 2020, carried out to a high standard by the Aventure Peugeot workshop in Sochaux. All original parts were kept, except for the left exterior mirror, which was replaced with an original Peugeot 304 part.
Wheels & consumables:
- Nearly new tyres, replaced in 2019
- Wheels repainted during the Aventure Peugeot conversion (no blasting): very light rust traces have reappeared at the edges, purely cosmetic.
History:
- Vehicle purchased in June 2018 in Toulouse.
- Third owner.
- Full history, with original invoices available.
- The technical inspection was carried out in November 2023 and will be repeated for the sale.
In summary: a healthy, well-documented 304 S Coupé, with reassuring mechanical condition, ideal for a connoisseur who wants to regularly enjoy a genuine, elegant and reliable French classic.
