Introduced in 1959 and built until 2000, the Mini is clearly a motoring icon!
Few cars can boast producing more than five million examples, and for forty years.
Of course, over such a long production run, different evolutions will appear, but the “so British” style will remain the same for decades.
In addition to its appealing look and worldwide fame, and its cinema and general public road career, the Mini also boasts a historic racing record; no one has forgotten its three Monte Carlo Rally wins in 1964, 1965 and 1967.
For a bit of trivia, it would have won the 1966 edition if it had not subsequently been disqualified.
The Mini also took part in many other motoring events such as rallycross, for example.
From early 2000, under the BMW era, the Mini modernised but more importantly grew to become a truly complete brand today, with different models continually on offer.
NYC's/ OXOTO is putting this lovely red example up for sale, with a black leather and fabric interior, showing under 7, 000 kms on the clock (read as 107, 000 kms).
Delivered new in January 1993 in Belgium, we unfortunately do not have the full history of this Mini. It has, however, been owned by the current proprietor since September 2013. We have Car Pass tracing, but some data seems incorrect.
The bodywork is not in excellent condition: ideally, a fresh paint job would be advisable as there is corrosion visible in the paint. There is also a paint crack on the roof. Our asking price takes this into account.
The interior presents well; there is overall wear to the seats and, mainly, the steering wheel.
Mechanically, we have an invoice (nearly €1, 300) for a refurbishment in preparation for sale. This invoice, visible on our site, states that the following were replaced: the fuel pump, the front dampers, the front brake discs and the front silentblocks (front suspension bushes).
The last MOT date is September 2025 (6, 725 kms on the clock) and mentions only two minor remarks: wear/ slop in the suspension articulation and a deformation – presence of superficial corrosion on the underside structure, which is a very common note on older Minis.
