Description
Westfield XI - Lotus Eleven replica - French registration certificate
Overdrive offers for sale this very beautiful Westfield XI, replica of the legendary Lotus Eleven.
Built by Lotus in 270 examples between 1956 and 1958, the Eleven version was intended for endurance and sprint racing for small displacement engines. Faithful to the philosophy of Colin Chapman, founder of the marque, who prioritised lightness and the aerodynamics of his machines, the “Eleven” features a space-frame steel tube chassis covered by a thin aluminium body. It claimed numerous trophies, including Category 1, 1100 cc at Le Mans.
The English firm Westfield began manufacturing replicas of these iconic cars between 1982 and 1986. These replicas are built as close as possible to the original Lotus, with a tubular chassis and a fibreglass body, with aluminium panels, for a weight of barely over 500 kg.
