Description
I am selling my Triumph GT6 Mk2 RHD, damaged in November 2025, with a historic vehicle registration.
It's a rare model (10, 000 units) and the most developed of the three Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3 versions.
I bought this car in 2015 in the Netherlands from a private seller at around 95, 000 miles on the odometer (five figures) and it currently shows 99, 814 miles.
At the time I was looking for a Triumph GT6 that didn’t require bodywork.
The previous owner had replaced the rear wings as well as the front wings, both sills, and the floor pans.
Mechanically, all the copper brake pipes were replaced but the rest hadn’t been done or was done poorly.
I quickly carried out mechanical work, even though the vehicle was running roughly normally.
Here is the list of work from front to back:
- Dual-chain timing
- Electronic ignition and twin coils
- Valve seating and bedding
- Replacement of 12 rocker arms and rocker shaft
- Front brake calipers and discs
- Front adjustable shock absorbers
- Front suspension bushings
- Master cylinder
- Complete clutch
- Carburettor overhaul
- Fuel pump
- Fitting of a carburettor priming pump
- Gearbox bearings
- Prop shaft universal joints
- Rear leaf spring
- Rotoflex rear wheels
- Rear wheel cylinders and brake shoes
- Rear adjustable shocks
- Rear arm bushings
I have many invoices and the history on the Rimmer Bros site.
And I think I’m forgetting some!
interior: I intended to replace the carpeting; a new carpet is in my possession.
The car is fitted with bucket seats as I used it mainly for map-reading trips; the original leather seats, in good condition, are in my possession.
With regard to corrosion, only the tailgate needs repair or replacement with a salvaged one. The chassis is corrosion-free.
During the last Carto outing, stopped at a stop, an Audi A4 crashed into it head-on at about 45°.
Damage is as follows:
- Chassis: replace the lower crossmember and straighten the support gussets.
- The complete bonnet with its reinforcements, full bumper, bonnet latch, left headlight, radiator, fan and bonnet closure and grille.
- The front doors and the windscreen area will need to be straightened and repainted because the bonnet has moved back.
- All parts are available in Great Britain except the bonnet, which is not currently available and is around €4, 500, whereas used ones are about €1, 000.
- There are used parts available in the northwest of London, in Watford.
- The front bumper, new, is around €1, 000 but you have the option of not fitting one. I was planning to omit it as the car looks more charming with the bumpers removed, leaving only the impact absorbers.
The vehicle is repairable without administrative constraints, nor VE or RSV procedures.
However it will be re-checked (technical inspection) in the presence of the buyer.
Before the incident, the car was valued at €22, 000 because the interior had not been reconditioned (carpets and seats).
The current average value of a MK2 is around €28, 000 or more, and this figure continues to rise and has doubled in 10 years.
For clarity, my vehicle has zero corrosion, which is very rare for this model; the 2022 technical inspection confirms this and notes it runs wonderfully with the fabulous six-cylinder engine with its distinctive note.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me for a viewing or further information.
The asking price of €9, 000 seems very reasonable and is negotiable.
