If you’re of a shy and retiring disposition, this magnificent 2004 BMW E46 M3 convertible is most definitely not the car for you! Finished in Phoenix Yellow with matching Kiwi leather, this is the kind of car you’re never going to lose in a car park. Or from space! It’s unashamedly bright, bold and as such, brilliant. The M3 was, let us not forget, a powerhouse of a car. A machine built for speed and built for excitement, so on that basis the colour is most fitting indeed.

Now, you might be wondering why we’re giving our coveted ‘Classified of the Week’ position to a car from 2004? Well, for starters, we don’t just ‘do’ classic cars. We love all cars, and especially those of a specialist nature, which this one is. We’re also more than aware of the fact that the E46 is a modern classic, and one that, like the E36 and E30 before it, will be sought after for years and years to come. This is a car unburdened by age. Instead, it’s a car people will always want. A timeless machine of sorts.

This example, which boasts that all-important 340bhp S54 3.2 litre straight-six engine, has only covered a mere 81,000 miles. It was ordered with the favoured six-speed manual transmission, it has been looked after fastidiously by its enthusiast owner and as such, it presents as one of the best out there. The bodywork is flawless, the wheels immaculate, the hood perfect and the interior spotless. This is, make no mistake, quite the find.

The vendor is keen to point out the positives, of which there are many. It comes with a full, advisory-free MOT, full service history, it’s been recently serviced including brakes and tyres and it drives like an absolute champion. The steering is direct, sharp and laden with feedback. The brakes are new, and thus offer no judder. Instead, you get progressive, controlled braking – important in a car like this. The suspension has been lowered a hair, but that’s the only modification. Other than that, this is an M3 as the engineers intended.

Is it the cheapest E46 M3 convertible out there? No. But is it one of, if not, the best? Quite possibly. This is a car that, if the sales data is anything to go by, is only going to go up in value. Cars that have been cared for as much as this are always going to be hunted out by keen collectors. This is your chance to get in there first, and enjoy the ownership experience that only a 340bhp BMW can provide. Buy it. Be bold. Be seen. Be the envy of every other 3 Series driver out there!
