As you have no doubt heard by now, 2022 marks 70 years of the Queen having her spot on the throne, and this Jubilee is a cause for celebration. We’ve been given an extra bank holiday, the UK will no doubt be awash with street parties, and down in old Lahndan Tahhhn, there will be all manner of Royal events going on. And one of them involves us here at Car & Classic, and it’s free to attend, so we strongly encourage you to keep Saturday the 4th of June free so you can come an join us at Jubilee Party in the Park.

What?

We’ve been invited to rustle up some cars. Seventy, in fact. One for every year of the Queen’s reign, as part of the Jubilee Party in the Park celebrations. So that means at one end we have a 1952 Land Rover Series one, bookended with a new Land Rover Defender from 2022. But don’t think we have 69 Land Rovers in between. No, we have a wonderfully eclectic mix of motors for you to enjoy. Aston Martins, Morgans, Rovers, McLarens, Jaguars, Gilberns, Fords, the list goes on. There truly will be something for every enthusiast on display, You’ll love it, we promise. It will be a broad church of exciting, varied and desirable metal that not only celebrates the Jubilee, but that also shines as a beacon of just how great the British automotive landscape has been, and continues to be.

Where?

Windsor Castle, of course. Where else would one host a Jubilee gathering? We have been given the run of the uppermost section of the iconic Long Walk that leads up to the castle. We’ll have cars lining the Walk on either side, picnic tables, there will be food and drink vendors on site, there will be large screen showing off the cars and all in the shadow of the UK’s most important castle. Never before has there been an event like this, nor will there be again. For us to have such a prime spot goes to show just how important the motoring history under the Queen’s reign is to the UK.

This event will be held on Saturday 4th of June, running from 10am until 5pm, giving visitors a huge seven hour window in which to build a visit and a walk around into their day. There is obviously a lot going on at Windsor on that day, so we wanted to make sure the cars were there for as long as possible so as to give everyone a chance to come and see them.

How?

You just turn up, that’s all there is to it. We have the cars ready and waiting to go, and we’ll make sure they’re all on display for you on the day. We’ll have a stand so you can come and have a chat with the C&C team should you wish, and there is nothing more for you to do other than come and have a look at all the gleaming chrome on display. The event is completely free for you, no tickets needed, no obligation, you can just come along. How’s that for a deal? Why not bring the family and come and have a picnic with us, spend the day in the sun with some great people and some brilliant cars at an iconic venue. That’s a great day out! For timings, directions and information on where to park and so on, have a look at the event website.

And although we will not be asking for any entry fee to this event, we would invite you, should you wish, to make a charitable donation to The Prince Philip Trust Fund. This is a local Charity, established as a grant-giving trust in 1977 to mark the Queen’s Silver Jubilee. The Prince Philip Trust Fund makes a real difference to the quality of life of people from communities across the extensive area of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, focussing particularly on giving support towards disability, health, the elderly, families, children and young people, those in social need and the arts.
