One of the most anticipated events in the whole European classic car scene is about to open its doors: the Auto e Moto d’Epoca fair in Bologna, Italy, is the name when it comes to classics on the continent. Not only does this annual appointment bring together enthusiasts, collectors and dealers all in one amazing space but it’s also one of biggest of its kind in Europe.

Every year, Auto e Moto d’Epoca has come to attract visitors from 45 countries around the world. This time in particular, from October 26th to 29th, the fair is going to be bigger than ever and more exciting than any other edition before as after 39 years in Padua, it will be held for the first time in Bologna, in an even larger exhibition centre of a whopping 235,000 square metres!

Located in the middle of the so called “Motor Valley”, the area where legends like Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini were born, just to mention the most amazing marques, Auto e Moto d’Epoca is also now going to be easier to reach from abroad and is definitely the place to be for those interested in heritage on wheels with an amazing quantity, not to mention quality, of exceptional cars, motorbikes, vans, spare parts, automobilia and everything related to the world of classics.

What better occasion, then, to have a look at what goes on in one of the busiest fairs of the year? Car & Classic will not just be having a nosey, we’ll do more than that. We will actually be featured with a dedicated space in the fair where we’ll be meeting old acquaintances, making new friends and discussing how to find good deals through our well known platform. What you can expect from Auto e Moto d’Epoca is a deep dive into the timeless charm of classic cars thanks to a range of vehicles which cover all eras and categories: from pre-war to motorsports, via the great classics of the golden years of Italian motoring through to the most promising Youngtimers and Instant Classics.

In hommage to the British car world, there will be the presence of premium leather for vintage cars supplied by the distinguished Connolly Brothers Curriers Ltd. to makes such as Ferrari, Maserati, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Aston Martin, to Concorde, as well as to British Parliament, to the British Library, to Queen Elizabeth II and to the coronation carriage of King Edward VII.

One of the main novelties at this first ever Bologna edition of the Auto e Moto d’Epoca exhibition is the brand-new hall 21, wholly dedicated to classic motorbikes, which is set to stretch across a surface area of 15,000 square metres, allowing visitors to go on an inspiring journey through 120 years of motorcycling history. The gems of the Battilani Collection from Imola, one of the most famous in Italy for the quality and the quantity of its 300 motorcycles, will be exhibited including some of the most notable Italian bikes originating in the 1940s.

Amongst all of the wonderful bikes on display will be myriad racing beasts; a Mondial 250 bialbero two-shaft with five gears from 1957 will be featured together with a Moto Guzzi 250 Albatros prototype built in 1939 with a compressor (the motorbike, built to achieve record speeds at the time, reached 230 km/h and was nick-named “Gerolamo” by the plant workers). A Harley-Davidson Aermacchi Ala d’Oro 350 (Gold Wing) from the late Sixties prepared for uphill racing by the former racing driver Cipriani will also be on display, as well as the Ermes Bassi extraordinary OMER Miura Motorbike with which he took part in the Italian Championship Group 5.

Visitors will also able to admire the classic 750 HONDA K0 which marked a historic watershed in the history of road bikes, starting off the golden era of Japanese motorcycles and presenting all the other world manufacturers with a simple choice – either to revolutionise their products or withdraw from the market.

Focusing on the continuity between tradition and innovation, world’s biggest names and most beloved manufacturers of two-wheelers such as BMW will be participating to Auto Moto d’Epoca 2023 with breathtaking overviews of their most glorious heritages. Not only that but the atmosphere of the Dolce Vita will be guaranteed by the presence of an extraordinary selection of Lambrettas, including one which belonged to a famous F1 driver still in activity, alongside another belonging to former driver Jarno Trulli.
