The Appeal

The Mini Cooper has become a legend in the world of motorsport. An eccentric and endearing little car, this creation by Alec Issigonis demonstrated its full potential thanks to its compact dimensions, featherweight construction and exceptional handling.

This 1968 car was assembled to recall the famous Cooper S MK2 of Richard Longman, combining authentic period components with a recently overhauled engine and a Quaife synchromesh gearbox. Painted in Sirocco green and fitted with a black fabric and leatherette interior, this Cooper S has had only three registered owners since leaving the factory. During its last recommissioning in 2025, the engine was completely rebuilt with a large-valve cylinder head, a Kent 286 camshaft and a fully balanced rotating assembly using the original reground crankshaft. The car completed an uneventful round trip by road to the 'Blyton Action Day' event in England in 2025.

Acquired by its current owner in 2013, the car has been carefully stored under cover and kept dry throughout this period. In 2019, the engine underwent a complete mechanical overhaul, including the installation of an uprated crankshaft, strengthened connecting rods and latest-generation pistons. According to the seller, the engine is now fully rebuilt and ready to hit the track.
