This Superb Genuine Right Hand Drive Karmann Convertible Beetle 1303 1600 Twin Port was originally ordered as right hand drive and registered new in Germany to member of the British Armed Forces whilst serving there in 1977 and then bought back to the UK by him in 1979 and registered in the UK, in that period a vehicle would go on the latest registration letter rather than being back dated, hence the V Registration on a 1977 vehicle. The VW has only had 4 previous owners from new the last owner keeping the car 27 years. In 2001 the car was restored having work carried out to the body, re finished paint work, Chrome Trim, Re Trimmed and New Hood fitted and the addition of genuine period Porsche 16 inch Fuchs Alloy Wheels and 205 tyres, Other than servicing and replacement of oil seals and carburettor the engine is original and matching numbers as when the car was manufactured. The restoration was largely completed by a VW Air Cooled Specialist in Hertfordshire called Riverhaus with supporting invoices and the the VW still carries their dealer sticker in the side window. This VW Beetle present superbly with its 24 year old restoration in all areas with excellent panel gaps, interior is superb as is all trim work from the Carpet in the boot to the Mohair hood, Hood Tonneau Cover and still as New Trim, In fact the car has been closeted away covering only 1400 miles in 24 years, which is supported with maintenance paperwork and previous MOT certificates. Recently fully serviced and the replacement of brake callipers and discs, Registered as Historic with free Road Tax and this vehicle is also ULEZ compliant. Probably on of the best colour combinations for a Beetle Convertible and those Genuine not Replica wheels just finish the look! Driving very well and I have used her on Motorways and driven up to the centre of London and covered circa 100 miles in her so far.
