There’s something undeniably special about a straight-six BMW roadster, and this 2001 Z3 2. 2L is a wonderful example of why these cars continue to grow in popularity. Offered having covered just 55, 000 miles from new, it comes complete with an excellent maintenance record boasting 14 service stamps along with a comprehensive history file.
Finished in timeless Titan Silver Metallic over the striking Tanin Red leather interior, this M54-powered example is complemented by a desirable specification including the M-Sport steering wheel, heated front seats, upgraded Kenwood stereo, manual transmission, smokers pack and more.
The black soft top remains in good condition with no significant rips, tears or staining. The only point worth mentioning is a small section of rubber trim around the rear plastic screen that has come loose – we’re simply being picky.
The freshly refurbished Star Spoke Style 55 alloy wheels have been professionally powder coated and are now fitted with a brand new matching set of Nankang tyres.
Mechanically the car has recently benefited from a full engine service including all filters and spark plugs, underside protection treatment, a new offside front anti-roll bar link bracket to lower arm, new nearside front lower ball joint and a new offside rear wheel bearing. The brake calipers have also been sympathetically restored in their original red finish.
Cosmetically, the car has seen some paintwork during its life, entirely in keeping with a 25-year-old vehicle. Following a Stage 1 machine polish, the Titan Silver presents beautifully with a deep shine and is largely free from notable scuffs or scratches, with only the odd age-related touch-in visible on close inspection.
Inside, the cabin remains wonderfully original. The Tanin Red leather shows only light creasing to the usual bolster areas, while the silver exterior paired with the vibrant interior creates a superb contrast that suits the Z3.
