The car has been owned by myself for around 30 years. It was used extensively in the early days of ownership, then went off road in the late 1980s and was garage stored awaiting restoration for 10 years. Then it was fully restored - a process completed in 2006 - details below:
New Galvanised Original Lotus sourced chassis
Engine: Complete rebuild including QED cams, crank grind, new big end shells and mains, new pistons, new radiator, electric fan electronic ignition, new webber carburators new starter motor, coil and new dynamo. Engine has been rolling road set up and has around 130bhp. The car has completed just over 4000 miles since the full restore 4 years ago. New maniflow exhaust system with a stainless steel tail box. Averages 40 mpg cruising at 70 mph.
Running gear: Differential Rebuild with new bearings and seals new roto flex couplings, Suspension has all new wishbones, bushes new shocks and new wheel bearing seals.
Brakes: New aeroquip brake lines, new discs, exchange calipers, pads and servo.
Bodywork: Body stripped to bare glassfibre with some minor restoration. Repainted in original cardinal red. Entire new wiring loom and switches, reconditioned heater, new walnut dashboard. Fitted with inertia real seat belts, original seats retrimmed in original material. Refurbished door cards fully, recarpeted, new windscreen and soft top.
Boot: New battery, fully carpeted new stainless steel fuel tank.
New tyres on original crome steel rims.
The car is im fantastic condition bestowing a car that has been garage stored and seen 3 years of light use since restoration. Other than ongoing running costs you would not need to spend money on the car - I will be sad to see it go.
Car has current MOT and Road Tax until end of year. On a restricted mileage of 3000 miles a year my current insurance is £95 / year.
Car is advertised in other locations online, looking for a quick sale at the right price.
