Here is my super rare and stunning MX5 MK1 1. 8 VR Limited. MOT until June 2020 with no advisories. Low mileage at 96k. In beautiful condition as you can see in the pictures. This is one of the rarest MK1 models; only 700 made and very few now remain, especially in such good condition. It is also one of the fastest MK1 models at 133bhp while also benefiting from factory upgrades like a lightened flywheel, Torsen LSD, stiffened chassis, Bilstein suspension and many other extras that enhance the performance of the car.
Eunos spec which is more desirable than the UK cars – imported in 2007 so hasn’t seen as much of the British weather. The car has an extensive and complete service history, and has been meticulously maintained to a high standard. Brand new soft top fitted in May 2018 – Broadspeed MX5. Additionally a number of other maintenance has been done recently including:
- Front and rear brakes have been fully serviced with new discs and pads "EBC blank disks + Ultimax2 pads"
- Gearbox, diff and turret oil changed "Millers CRX NT 75W90"
- Turret rebuild shifter kit "Moss"

- Regular oil and filter changes 10W40 Castrol GTX
- Upgraded alloys with recent tyres
- Hardtop in black available at EXTRA COST to be negotiated.
This car was part of the MX5 owners club and is an MX5 City car – who only sell the very best MX5 examples. It has all three original keys – two with immobiliser and one master key.
Driving wise the car is a pleasure to drive and handles beautifully. Being the 1. 8 and VR spec it has loads of power and a nice throaty sound from the exhaust. Looks wise it is stunning the paintwork shines and pops. The car gets loads of comments and admiration as well as waves from other MX5 owners even if they aren’t in MK1’s!
I really think this is a rare opportunity to grab perhaps the rarest spec of MK1 which has been so well maintained. Only selling as I have enjoyed it but have another few projects in the works and this car should be driven not just sat in the garage. Hardtop with heated screen in black is in excellent condition and comes with wall mount bracket and MX5 zip bag for when not in use – this is available at extra cost if it is wanted.
I’ve priced the car very cheap as I will be needing the space soon. The price of MK1’s especially the limited models is only heading in one direction so almost impossible to lose money on the car. Car is ready to drive and enjoy without needing anything in the near future. Test drives and inspection are welcome, I am sure the first person to see it and drive it will buy. Strictly no timewaster, if you are not serious about buying the car please do not waste my time.
