The most
Of the countless examples produced over the decades, it is the purest early versions of the Volkswagen Beetle that are the most sought-after today. With their separate rear windows and a host of delicate period details, these cars are true masterpieces of design as well as classic vehicles for everyday use.
This superb 1952 Beetle Split-Window in Almond Green is a perfect illustration. With paintwork redone a few years ago, more recent upholstery, a restored chassis and a rebuilt engine, this is one of the most beautiful examples we've seen for a long time.
It is fitted with a rebuilt 1956 1200cc engine, but is also sold with its original engine, allowing a complete restoration if desired. Recent work includes a complete overhaul of the braking system and the installation of a new starter motor.
It is offered with a roadworthiness certificate valid until February 2029, and is of course registered in France as a collector's vehicle. A few minor finishing touches remain, but this Beetle is an iconic classic that is as beautiful as it is ready for everyday use.
The seller states:
" It drives like a 1952 car: it accelerates gently, brakes badly and drives firmly!
Split cars are extremely rare in France. This one has a bit of history (which is rare for these models) and it comes with a VW certificate of authenticity (even though the original engine has not yet been restored)." IMG_20250111_154522 Franck MOREAU.jpg2.18 MB
