The Appeal

The DS is effectively as close as France got to inventing the magic carpet - a perfectly smooth, advanced bit of wizardry with styling firmly lodged in fantasy. It's a machine that continues to capture the imagination, loaded with character and sophistication. It's not so much an adrenaline vehicle as it is the motoring equivalent of a single, relaxing Kir Royal on a Parisian terrace.

Of course, even the most remarkable designs see variations, and the Safari is one we're particularly keen on. This station wagon made the car all the more practical as a family driver, and while it may not quite look like it's built for carrying rifles and golf clubs for gents in tweed plus-fours, it's undoubtedly up for the job.

This '69 Safari underwent comprehensive restoration work in 2012, including major body refurbishment, rust treatment, and mechanical overhaul. Having served as a reliable everyday vehicle for the current owner since 2012, this is a handsome, eminently usable classic that's equally at home on long-distance touring trips as it is handling daily duties.
