When a car's design language can still be instantly recognised over six decades after inception, you know they got it right and there's just something so inherently appealing about a classic 911. Whether it be those iconic lines, the legendary air-cooled six-cylinder boxer engines or simply the synergy of everything coming together perfectly, old Butzi really did nail it first time round and this 1970 US import 2.2-litre Targa is testament to that very fact.
Running and driving impeccably, the car has been breathed on to modernise the appearance somewhat. Wider steel rear quarters have been fitted, along with a later bumper set, and we think it looks pretty damn cool as a result. The paintwork is harbouring a little patina at this point, which arguably adds to the car's old school charm, but it's still very presentable.
It's a wholly solid affair too and the car has never been welded. Underneath has been dry ice blasted and has cleaned up incredibly well. The interior is in great original condition, as is the Targa top and the vendor tells us the engine and five-speed manual gearbox are free from any fluid leaks.
Ready to use as is or as a candidate for a full concours restoration with a good potential return on investment, whatever you decide to do you'll be in possession of an eminently usable and really rather handsome classic Porsche, and what's not to like about that? image.png2.79 MB
