The Appeal
Convertible season is finally here, and this is the very car for the job. Combining beautiful Pininfarina styling with the spirited performance of Alfa's responsive twin-cam engine was a winning formula that made the Spider a huge success. Series 2 'Coda Tronca' models like this are a real sweet spot in the 105/115 Spider lineage, blending the charm of the earliest models with some notable usability improvements.
This well-maintained 1977 example is classically finished in red and sits upon a stunning set of OEM alloy wheels. The current owner has clearly lavished care on this Spider, undertaking a comprehensive mechanical refresh that included numerous replacement parts to ensure its reliable operation when the summer months come around. The previous keeper really looked after it too, including a €5,500 spend shortly before the vendor bought the car, completing every job a reputable specialist in Madrid felt it needed. This included full braking system replacement, a new petrol tank and much more besides.
The vendor says:
"In my ownership, I have kept the car in a heated garage and have only used it for summer outings. It has had a new upgraded fuel pump fitted a high performance starter motor and a new fan cowl and radiator , final works include a new top quality soft top supplied from Classic Alfa UK."
It's impossible to resist a shiny red Italian sports car. We're utterly smitten with this Alfa, and we're sure you are too.
